Moonstriker Reaches Battlemaster

Nowhere near my best game, lots of running the ball, but it was the game that I hit Battlemaster!

So ... this actually happened quite a while ago, actually the day after 1.1.5 went live which was back on March 6th.  I was just going through my screenshot folder and found this little gem, then decided to post it up here.  This happens to me every now and then - I actually take a day to update my blog with all my new news and find out there SO MUCH new news to talk about.  So I just try to put up as much as I can before I get too busy to do any more.

Anyway - the story that goes with this is short.  I was working and working and working trying to get up to Battlemaster rank so I could start gearing up with the new gear.  I was racing a few others in the guild trying to get there (not first) sooner than the others.  I was getting really close, spending lots of time on Ilum before they destroyed it and racking up valor during major Ops v/s Ops battles.

Then they announced that in the next patch Honor gains would skyrocket and it basically became trivial.  That whole week I barely got any honor because no one wanted to grind any more when it was going to become so easy next patch.  I managed to get within 5k honor the night before the next patch and just couldn't finish off.  So ... no, I didn't do it before patch, but the majority of it I did the hard way.  I take some pride in that, knowing that before the changes I worked my way up.

I'm more disappointed with 1.2 making it completely meaningless by removing the valor requirement for the new BM gear.  It was bad enough to make it so easy to get honor which has skyrocketed tons and tons of people up into the BM/War Hero rankings ... but now it's just a vanity title, which really doesn't hold much accomplishment.
